Entrees

As we ordered 4 Tapas dishes I’ll call the 1st 2 dishes Entree’s and the remaining dishes mains

Baked Field Mushrooms with Feta, Oven Roasted Tomato and Capsicum

This dish is one of my favorites at Bistro Alegria, so tasty all the flavors complement each other beautifully.

Braised Wild Boar with Desiree` Potato Gnocchi Braisage and Celeriac Remoulade

2014-11-29 20.03.58

We have sampled this dish on other occasions with the wild boar served by itself rather than being padded out with the gnocchi. The wild boar is always flavoursome, however we would have preferred it served as a stand alone dish minus the gnocchi.

Sourdough with Flavoured Butter, Confit Garlic, Marinated Feta Cheese and Balsamic Reduction

2014-11-29 19.57.46

Our waiter suggested the sourdough bread to mop up the gravy served with the wild boar dish. Four char grilled sourdough slices with flavoured butter, confit garlic, marinated feta cheese and balsamic reduction. Once the waiter learnt I was gluten free he quickly organized some charred gluten free bread too, which I thought was a nice touch.

Chef isn’t afraid to use lots of fresh garlic to this dish, just the way we like it! The prawns were lovely and tender.

Seared Scallops with Morcilla, Soffrito and Aioli

2014-11-29 20.42.41This dish wasn’t included in our initial choice, however, we spied it being deliver to the table next to us and quickly changed our order, you can see why!

Summary

Bistro Alegria is primarily a Tapas restaurant featuring Mediterranean food.

From an extensive tapas menu we choose four different dishes. Initially we were had our heart set on 6 dishes, however, four was sufficient!

We have eaten at Bistro Alegria on 2 other occasions, the quality of food and service is always of a high standard. The same staff have been at the restaurant every time we have dined there which I always feel is a sign of a well run restaurant and one that treats its staff well.

I would highly recommend dining at Bistro Alegria!
