I’ve been on a journey the past few months that lead to my transformation. Not the travel type of journey to sip cocktails on the beach, unfortunately, one requiring a whole lot of discipline.
I’m always up for a challenge, to reinvent or make life better and as I’ve been on this journey previously, several times, I knew what to expect.
Except this time had to be different. There had to be permanent changes and monitoring so I didn’t fall back into bad habits that no longer served me.
So change I did.
It took me months though of overcoming ‘someday’ thinking. Yes, I knew I needed to lose weight (my clothes told me daily!) but I love food. So. Much. Especially when we travel, trying different foods from different cultures.
In the past, I’ve read about a particular photo that jolts a person back to reality and inspires them to get motivated and make the changes in their lives. This is mine.
What I saw was an overweight, puffy stranger staring back at me. One that I barely recognised due to being the heaviest I’d ever been in my entire life! Yes, I even beat my pregnancy weights.
After a morning Jet Skiing, we flopped beside the pool for a bite to eat and a cocktail. As part of the assignment, I promised to take several social media shots in and around the resorts. I did post this one…after many deep breaths.
My Transformation From The Weight Loss Decision
Christmas and New Year came and went and I had made a vow to myself that I would start on the 6th January 2018.
The process gave me real insights on how to motivate myself. I found I have to set a deadline and make a vow to myself. Once I make a vow to a deadline, there is no turning back. It was just the making of the deadline that had taken so long.
The protocol that I followed might not be for you, however, as a friend asked me years ago, “do you prefer slow pain or fast pain?”
I prefer to have a healthy mindset about it rather than thinking and viewing the weight loss process as “painful”. Focusing on the end game. How I would feel and how many more clothes would fit!
Additionally, my rings would fit properly and I’d actually wear them. I could also tie my shoelaces comfortably without pretending to be a contortionist. And my thighs wouldn’t slap together when I walked (sorry for TMI!) It’s the little things, isn’t it?
I’m happy to say I’ve achieved all of the above. The process continues and it’s a far healthier way of living and mindset for me. I feel responsible and in-tune with the food I choose and eat. This is instead of dropping right back into unhealthy ways of eating and large meals.
So what did I do you ask? Here’s the step-by-step weight loss plan that I followed. Before you keep reading though bear in mind that you HAVE TO WANT TO DO IT! There can be no excuses and you can’t make up your own rules. Yes, it’s that strict.
But it get’s amazing results and it’s WORTH it! And so are you and your health.
Changing Habits Protocol
I followed the Changing Habits protocol for my transformation. It’s been developed by Cindy O’Meara a naturopath on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. She took the basic Dr Simeons Protocol using HCG or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin and updated and modernized the program. This came about from undertaking the program when she saw a photo of herself.
What is HCG or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin? Simply put it’s a hormone used to re-program your hypothalamus. Dr Simeons, a British endocrinologist, discovered the effects of low-dosage HCG in his studies back in the mid 50’s. He discovered that in conjunction with a low-calorie diet, fat loss was achieved without the loss of lean tissue.
In plain English and through my own experiences on the protocol, here’s what I found happens. I take 10 drops of HCG under my tongue 3 times per day. The drops suppress my appetite so I am not hungry.
I follow the eating protocol of 500 calories per day eating 100grams of lean protein and selected vegetables. If you are worried about the restrictive 500 calories, don’t. Your body then looks for its energy elsewhere, your fat stores. Your body burns your fat as energy and the pounds and inches drop away.
This is how I lost 10 kgs in 6 weeks.
How much is 10 kgs in pounds? If you roughly double a kg per pound so around 20 lbs.
Fast pain rather than slow pain…
Creating Good Habits
It doesn’t stop there as foods are tested and re-introduced once you transition out of phases 2 and 3. This is the part where I’ve let myself down previously and gained most the weight back and by the end of last year, more.
This time around for my transformation I did the whole 43 days of the protocol rather than throwing in the towel at 21 days or 30 days. The minimum days are 18 days which suits some people (yes men have great success on the protocol) with not much fat to lose.
The difference between following the Changing Habits protocol to just buying HCG drops online is the support.
The support of the coaches in a closed Facebook Group is phenomenal! Reason being is these girls have done several rounds and have lost half their body weight, kilos and kilos of fat. They have faced their fears and struggles and overcome them on their individual journeys. Who better to help you than girls who have gone before you?
What’s the best method you have found to shed a few pounds or kilos? HCG might be for you if you’ve had a battle shedding weight. You can grab it here. It certainly works for me and my transformation.
