Restaurant Name:
Reserve Restaurant
Location:
6/249 Coronation Drive Milton QLD 4064
Entrees
Huon Salmon Rillettes
Poached and Smoked Salmon, Dill, Pain au Lait, Salmon Caviar, 63°C Egg cooked to perfection. Beautiful flavours this was the stand-out dish for me on the night.
Grilled Banyard Quail
Served with Savoury Granola, Grapes, Fromage Frais, Vine Leaf. What there was of this tiny bird was delicious. Yes quails are small, however we haven’t witnesses one quite that tiny. Beautiful delicate flavours accompanied this succulent bird.
Main Dishes
Roasted Duck Breast and Confit Leg
Served with Freekeh and Chestnut Pilaf, Baby Beetroot, Fromage Frais, Orange Jus. The coating on the duck leg was very salty and the breast undercooked to my liking. I’m happy to eat medium rare steaks, salmon, sashimi, etc, however two of the duck breast slices were served rare. There were elements to this dish that I could not eat.
Crisp Skinned Snapper
Served with Steamed Kipflers, Sauce Gribiche, Chardonnay Vinaigrette cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning and beautiful flavours.
Summary
The Reserve Restaurant Milton has an old world charm with elegant surrounds and a view of the Brisbane River from some tables. Set on the corner of a row of old terrace homes the restaurant has been established for some years and has always been known for it’s fine dining.
Although I selected the wrong dish on the night to my tastes I would return to the Reserve Restaurant Milton as the service and most food was outstanding.
